I never understood how his career never really took off into A list stardom after Goodfellas in the way so many other actors have done so especially when working with someone like Scorsese. He was one of those rare actors that even if he starred in a bad movie, he never once phoned it in for a quick pay check (even in Wild Hogs).
I always thought he would have been the perfect actor to be in Tarantino movies as well.
He was terrifying in almost everything he did - can you imagine him turning up at your door at 1am to let you know you didnāt finish your Heineken too? I quote that āthat becomes a different matterā line quite regularly.
